Sis Thomas

December 13, 1940 - June 29, 2013

Deloris Jean Dorman "Sis" Thomas, 72, of Mullens passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family following a long courageous battle with cancer. Born December 13, 1940 at Cannelton, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Beulah Schoolcraft Dorman. Sis was a former postmaster at Wyco and Corinne post offices and was also a part time employee for the Mullens post office. She was a member of the Welton Bible Chapel in Allen Junction, was an avid Mullens High School and WEHS fan, and she was recognized for her outstanding service, spririt, and dedication at WEHS. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Earl Thomas; and infant twin sisters, Brenda and Linda Dorman Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband and caregiver of 55 years, Earl Thomas; a son, Jerry Wayne Thomas and his wife, Sheree of Mullens; a daughter, Vickie Thomas Caldwell and her friend, Rick Bradshaw of Falls Mills, VA; seven grandchildren, Jana Caldwell and her fiancé, Jared Morrison, Allison Powers and her husband, Vince, Kristen Caldwell, Kara Thomas Brown and her husband, Josh, Brooke Thomas Bailey, and her husband, Matt, Andrew Thomas, and Carrie England and her husband, Nathan; nine great grandchildren, Addison Powers, Dylan Powers, Ethan Powers, Rileigh Mullins, Kinsley Brown, Mason Bailey, Kelsey Green, Nick Green, and Jackson England; two sisters, Kathy Wills of Cannelton and Athleen Estep and her husband, Ronnie of Longs, SC; three brothers, Danny Dorman and his wife, Brenda of Longs, SC, Leroy Dorman of Longs, SC, and Frank Dorman of Atlanta, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with David Pollock and Nick Biggs officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Garden Mausoleum 2 Peace, Beckley. Friends may call from 11:30 A.M. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Relay for Life/ Wyoming County American Cancer Society, 921 West Neville Street, Beckley, WV 25801 and Hospice of Southern WV, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. The family of Deloris "Sis" Thomas is being cared for by Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.
