Patricia A. Turnmire Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Patricia Ann "Nana" Stefancic Turnmire, 75, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of Buffalo, New York, on May 6, 2013 was escorted by angels to be with the Lord with family by her side at the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center after a long battle with cancer. She was born November 7, 1937 in Stephenson, WV. She was the daughter of the late Frances Spencer Stefancic and the late Frank Stefancic. Patricia was a baptized member of the Oak Street Freewill Baptist Church in Flatwoods, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Hugh Turnmire, in November of 1997. Patricia is survived by her son, Richard Hugh Turnmire of Buffalo NY; daughter, Susan Lynn Duncan (spouse Craig Duncan) of Buffalo NY; and daughter, Carol Ann Collier (spouse Gregory Collier) of Ashland, KY. Her children were the joy of her life but her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye. Surviving are 7 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and 6 great-granddaughters. Surviving Patricia are sisters, Jacqueline Stefancic Wilcox of Allen Junction, WV and Jeanette Stefancic Greer of Helen, WV; and brother, Robert Stefancic of Colorado Springs, CO. Siblings that preceded her in death were Jimmy Spencer, Eugene, Ramona, Sontie and Stephen Stefancic. Also surviving are special sisters-in-law, Betty Turnmire Smith (spouse Bob Smith), Bonnie Turnmire Wynn and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Welton Bible Chapel, Allen Junction with Rev. Gilbert Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service Thursday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. As Patricia loved flowers, sympathy arrangements are most welcome or memorial donations can be made to Ashland Community Hospice Care Center. A special thanks to the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center the staff were a true blessing during her final days of illness and the family's time of loss. The family of Patricia Turnmire is being cared for by teh Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.
