Surf City, NC-- Opal Hazel White, on January 27, 2014 at 1:10 AM our Lord and Savior called her home after a long illness. She is now at rest. Born in Ashland, WV, (McDowell County) she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Church) Blevins. Mrs. White was a long standing member of Bud Baptist Church, Bud, WV. Also a member of the Democratic Women's Associating and truly enjoyed her time that she spent at the Senior Citizens Center. Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Roy Ann Garten of Surf City, NC and Dave Hill of St. Mary's, WV; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren with one on the way. Services will be 12 noon, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Lusk and Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
