Myrtle Virginia Anderson, 91, of Coal City, formerly of Itmann, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 in Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born January 14, 1919 at Tom's Creek, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Alice Virginia (Hicks) Austin. She was a homemaker, had been a resident of Itmann for the past 50 years, and for the past 8 months she resided with her daughter, Diana, in Coal City, and was of the Church Of God faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Lee Anderson; three sisters, Imogene Slater, Mae Whitt, and Goldie Puckett; and two brothers, Louis Austin and Ernest Austin. Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Patsy Holbrook of Itmann, and Diana Anderson Dickens of Coal City; three sons, Ronnie Anderson and his wife, Carol, of Itmann, Douglas Raymond Anderson of Germany, and Larry Wayne Anderson of Crestwood, KY; twelve grandchildren, Rhonda Ervin of NC, Kim Anderson of Itmann, Lisa Caldwell of Mullens, Ronnie Anderson, Jr. of NC, Tim Holbrook of NC, Chris Holbrook of Mullens, Shawn Holbrook of Itmann, Robin England of Mullens, Melissa Auen of Itmann, Todd Holbrook of NC, Wayne Anderson of NC, and Joshua G. Dickens of Coal City; twelve great-grandchildren, Rebecca Salley of NC, Scott Ervin of NC, Jarrett, Zachary, and Brittany Caldwell all of Mullens, Luke and Caleb Anderson of NC, Cody and Alex England of Mullens, Eric and Megan Auen of Itmann, and Emma Grace Anderson of NC; one great great-grandchild, Olivia Grace Salley of NC; and one brother, Ralph Austin of Warren, OH. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with Rev. Wendell Austin officiating. Entombment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joshua Dickens, Tim, Chris, Shawn, and Todd Holbrook, and Ronnie Anderson, Jr.
