Mack Donald Woosley, 89, of Mullens, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehab Center, New Richmond after a long illness. Born July 7, 1923 at Crumpler, he was the son of the late John Logan and Barbara Burke Woosley. Mr. Woosley was a former Road Brakeman/ Conductor for N&S Railroad retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Mullens and was a faithful member of Trinity Broadcasting Network. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served two tours in the South Pacific during World War II; a member of the Sophia VFW; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Woosley; three sisters, Florence, Lillian, and Barbara; and three brothers, Charlie, Jim, and Harold Woosley. Those left to cherish his memory include his three sons, Wayne Woosley of Midway, Mark Woosley of Pineville, and Scott Woosley of Mullens; two grandchildren, Lakin Jarrell and her husband, Jimmie, of Keyrock and Austin Scott of Pierpoint; and a special care giver and ex daughter-in-law, Debbie Woosley of Saulsville. Services will be 12 Noon Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dalley Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Council. Pallbearers will be Pete Stewart, Jimmie Jarrell, Butch Woosley, Bradley Ellison, Jason Spence, David Bailey, and Shannon Smith. The family wishes to express a heartfelt special thanks to the staff of Wyoming Nursing and Rehab Center, New Richmond for the care Mack received during his time with them. The care of the Woosley family has been entrusted to the Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.
