Mable Christine Rose Runion, 85, of Bud passed away peacefully at the Bowers Hospice House July 19, 2012. Mable was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She devoted her life to her family and to the Lord. She was a 61 year member of the Bud Baptist Church. Born August 28, 1926 in Pineville, she was the youngest child of the late William Floyd and Icie Hash Rose. Her sisters, Louise Hill, Carrie Stewart, and Geneva Cook and brothers, Coy Rose, Leman Rose, Paul Rose, W.F. "Junior" Rose, and Vivian Rose all preceded her in death. She was the last remaining member of her family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Robert "Mook" Runion; her daughter, Jeanne Worley and her husband, John, of Mullens; and her son, Terry Runion and his wife, Kim, of Mullens. Those also left to cherish her memory include her granddaughters, her "two shining lights", Tara Runion King and her husband, Matthew, of St. Paul, NC and Allyson Runion Coleman and her husband, Randy, of China Grove, NC; one step-grandson, John Michael Thornsbury, whom she loved; four great-grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth King, John Wyatt Coleman, and twins scheduled to be born in August; a brother-in-law, Carmel Hill and his wife, Beulah; and a special cousin who was also her sister-in-law, Dot Runion. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by her special friends, Ellen Jack Bailey-Lusk, Gladys Lilly, Mabel Sizemore, Glenna Wood, Joyce Brewer, Raymond and Sharon Hall, Patty Dillo, and Doris Cline. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Bud Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may gather with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be Allen Lindsay, John Michael Thornsbury, Steve Clark, Larry Shrewsbury, Billy Wayne Bailey, Jr. and Byron Stump. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of sympathy be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. The family would like to thank Bowers Hospice House, the staff of Wyoming Continuous Care, the staff of Raleigh General Hospital, Dr. Jebran Karam, Dr. Ali Suleiman, Dr. Manuel Barit, and Dr. Mary Coll.
