Linda H. Lambert, 80, formerly of Herndon Heights, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehab Center, New Richmond. Born February 9, 1929 in Wyoming County, she was the daughter of the late Moody C. Mitchem and Gertrude (Burks) Mitchem Mullins and her stepfather, Lawrence Mullins. Mrs. Lambert was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a faithful member of the Guyandotte Baptist Church, Herndon Heights. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lambert; two sisters, Astella and Vada; and three brothers, Greeley, Gaylord and Estel. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Virgil Lambert; two sons, Roger Lambert and his wife, Kathy, of Princeton and Randy Lambert and his wife, Rita, of Herndon Heights; a daughter, Carolyn Goode and her husband, Bill, of Pineville; six grandchildren, Dean Lambert and his wife, Sheila, of Princeton, Lynn Pardue and her husband, Ray, of Princeton, William Goode and his wife, Amy, of Beckley, Amy Goode of Pineville and Kelly and Emily Lambert of Herndon Heights; six great grandchildren, Cyndi and Jessica Pardue of Princeton, Haylee Lambert of Princeton, Hannah and Abby Goode of Beckley and Kaiden Lambert of Herndon Heights; one brother, Edward; and eight sisters, Agatha, Opal, Glada, Abby, Ada, Bonnie, Debbie and Kathy. A celebration of Linda's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Guyandotte Baptist Church, Herndon Heights with Elder Nathan Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery, Herndon Heights. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the church and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. II Timothy, 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
