December 27, 1955 - November 21, 2014
"...To you O'Lord, I lift up my soul, in you I trust, Oh, my God..." On Friday morning, November 21, 2014, our beloved Karen Sue Cox received her crown in heaven. She had fought a long battle with cancer and said she was tired and asked her Saviour to take her home. She loved the Lord and all people and was an inspiration to all who met her. Karen attended the Mullens Pentecostal Holiness Church. Born December 27, 1955, she was the daughter of the late John William Repass and mother, Bessie Leigh Repass. Karen had worked as a clerk for J&J Market in Mullens, two different banks as a teller, and finally as an assistant manager at the Mullens Little General until her illness. She loved working at the Mullens Volunteer Fire Department during special events. She also willingly worked many hours raising funds for the Cancer Relay for Life Team and was grateful for every year she showed up as a cancer survivor. Her smile and friendliness will be missed by many. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, known as "Junior"; a sister, Judy Repass Plaster; nephews, Gregory D. Repass and David Robertson; and a great-aunt, Ethel Graham of Bluewell. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William "Bill" Cox; two sons, Shaan R. Cox of Ashville, OH, and Chad D. Cox and his wife, Shana, of Corinne; grandsons, Jacob Cox and his mother, Sherry Cox of South Bloomfield, OH, and Nathan Cox; a granddaughter, Braydee Rachel Cox; a sister, Betty Belcher and her husband, Fred, of Massillon, OH; brothers, William "Bill" Repass and his wife, Jean, of Pulaski, VA, Bobby Repass and his wife, Sandra, of Itmann, and James Repass of Princeton; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and will be sadly missed by all. A celebration of Karen's life will be held 12 noon Monday, November 24, 2014, at the Mullens Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverends Lewis Arnold and Connie Black officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In keeping with Karen's wishes the family requests in lieu of flowers donations of sympathy be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.
