Judith Ann Blankenship

April 28, 1943 - July 17, 2020

Judith Ann Blankenship, 77, of Mullens, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at her residence. Born April 28, 1943 at Skin fork, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ella May (White) Stewart. Judy was a member of the Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church and was a former CNA at Raleigh General Hospital. Judy loved her children and her great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Blankenship; one daughter, Sharon Mullins; two brothers, Eugene and Paul Stewart. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Michael Blankenship and his wife, Sandra of Walnut Cove, NC and Jimmy Blankenship and his wife, Tammy of Josephine; five grandchildren, Nikki, Jackie, Jason, Kayla, and Nicholas; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy McNulty of Brenton and Mary Ellen Mahaffey of Ohio; and one brother, Buster Stewart of Ohio. Services will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. Charles "Butch" Acord officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. For those wishing to attend the services, CDC guidelines will be followed, social distancing is required, and masks are mandatory.
