Jimmy W. Reed

April 17, 1956 - July 30, 2010

Jimmy Wayne Reed, 54, of Amigo, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, July 30, 2010, at his residence following a short illness. Born April 17, 1956 at Amigo, he was the son of the late Sherman Reed and Cora (Robinson) Reed Graham. He was a former tree trimmer for Aspen Tree Company with 15 years of service. Jimmy was a loving husband and dad, and a friend to all. His light and love will shine on through us. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Reed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Wilma (Reed) Reed; two sons, Sherman and Steven Reed; a daughter, Alicia Bishop, and her husband, David; two grandchildren, Nicholas Reed and Alex Bishop; five brothers, David Foley, Gary, Isaac, Allen, and Frankie Reed; and eight sisters, Patricia Graham, Carol Muzzleman, Judy Norman, Vickie Mills, Melissa Stumbo, Linda Reed, Shelia Shrewsbury, and Ruby Birdsong. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Spruce Grove Cemetery, Herndon. Friends may call one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. For those considering an expression of sympathy, the family requests contributions to help defray unexpected expenses be made to Tankersley Funeral Home, 102 Moran Avenue, Mullens, WV 25882.
