Being the last member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Ellen Folden, Nina Webb, Lelah Canada and one brother, Robert Bailey. Tub proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the US Army 101st Airbourne "Screaming Eagles." Mr. McKinney retired from the Wyoming County Board of Education, driving a school bus in the Herndon area for 30 years. Working two jobs the majority of his life, he was also a Wyoming County Constable, Wyoming County Deputy Sheriff, Mullens City Police Officer, and Chief of Police. Those left to celebrate his life is his loving wife of almost 54 years, Patricia Ann Altizer McKinney of Bud, three children, Jeffrey Allen McKinney and wife Brenda of Pembroke, VA, Rhonda Lee McKinney Adkins and husband Greg of Crab Orchard, and Eric Todd McKinney and wife Barbara of Grandview. Six grandchildren, Jared Adkins, Amber McKinney, Summer Adkins, Brittany Adkins, Caleb McKinney, Joshua McKinney and a host of loving immediate and extended family, friends, and neighbors, too numerous to name. When his health would permit, Tub enjoyed attending Bud Baptist Church with his church family and friends. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to joke and bring a smile to your face. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Bud Baptist Church, Bud with Rev. Tom Lusk officiating.
