Gary Wilburn Birchfield Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary Wilburn Birchfield went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 20, 2022. He was born August 26, 1959. He was preceded in death by both parents Earl W. And Edna Keaton Birchfield, and his niece Janelle Canada. He is survived by his son, Garrett W. Birchfield of Lafayette, Ohio; granddaughters, Brianna, Kira, Blayne, and Maebry Birchfield; a great grandson, Christopher all of Lafayette, Ohio; sisters, Linda Taylor of White Oak, WV, Loraine (Bern) McCutcheon of Albuquerque, NM, Ennice (Jim) Sweigart of Gallipolis, OH, Freda (Jim) Canada of Marlinton, WV, Lisa (Glenn) Agee of Great Falls, SC; and his brother, Kenneth (Joyce) Birchfield of Pierpoint, WV; numerous nieces, nephews, and his long time companion, Joy Hammon of Beckley, WV. Gary was fun loving, witty, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to bird watch, study astronomy, spend hours on his coin collection, and spend any spare time he had on music. His love and dedication to music was established at an early age, and he loved to sing and perform to all audiences. He also had a vast knowledge of his family history and loved to share with everyone that would listen. Gary came into our lived and left footprints on our hearts. Because of that, we will never be the same. Graveside service and burial will be 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Birchfield Cemetery, Hotchkiss. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery. Family and friends will gather at approximately 1:00 P.M. at the Lester First Church of God gymnasium for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy, be made to the Lester First Church of God, P.O. Box 721, Lester, WV 25865.
