Frances Lynn Criss

June 11, 1948 - September 3, 2012

Frances Lynn Criss, 64, of Basin went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012 in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born June 11, 1948 at Mullens, she was the daughter of the late James Shumate and Gladdis Reed. Frances was a homemaker and attended Garwood Church. She was a very loving mother, friend, and had the biggest heart that anyone could ever have. She loved everyone and did not know a stranger. She devoted her time being the greatest mother she could be to her two sons and enjoyed spending all of her time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She would always say they made her day brighter just seeing the smile on their faces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husband, Beuford Lusk; and two brothers, Doug Reed and Jimmy Shumate. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Beuford Lusk of Princeton and Johnnie Criss and his wife, Patricia, of Alpoca; and five grandchildren, Katina Lusk, Jeremy Criss, Michael Criss, Makayla Criss, and Austin Criss. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Okey Slate officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery at the Lusk Settlement, Basin. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
