Ella Mae Worley

January 8, 2010

We miss you, Mom. Mae Worley joined her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010. Alzheimers slowly took her from us, and tired of the battle, she was reunited with her husband, Lewis Worley, who died Sept. 13, 2009. She was not aware of his passing. Mae spent her life in Mullens, WV, where she raised her family, enjoyed her many friends, and attended the Mullens United Methodist Church of which she was a member. For her well-being and safety, the last few years of her life were spent at Rocky Mt., VA at the Franklin Health and Rehab. Ella Mae suffered the loss of her parents, Alice and Walter Monday, her brother, Paul Monday, her sister, Betty Blankenship, and, recently, her brother, Dave Monday. Mae and Lewis shared two loving daughters and sons-in law. Patricia and Mike Compton live in Penhook, VA, and gave Mae two granddaughters, Kimberly Blok and Nichole Gross. Pamela and Charles Flynn live in Union Hall, VA. Pamela gave Mae three grandchildren, Jeff Presley, Joe Presley, and Jill Campbell. The great-grandchildren include Jae Tanna Pack, Savanna and Zachery Gross, Bailey, Brooke, and Jakob Presley, and Abbigail and Brayden Presley. Mae will not know the great-grandsons, twins, that are soon to be born to Jill and Nathan Campbell. Mae enjoyed serving the Lord, caring for her family, cooking, sewing, and church and community activities. Due to the simplicity of her life, others may not know the legacy she leaves to family. Her Christian walk and moral values will continue to impact her entire family she leaves behind. Graveside rites will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Building 2, Beckley. The services will be conducted by Rev. Lewis Arnold. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Azheimers Association at www.alz.org or donated by mail at P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 in memory of Ella Mae Worley. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Building 2.
