Deborah Sue Hale Lane, 55, of Bud Mountain went to be with her Lord on September 23, 2011 at home following a long illness. Born October 9, 1955 at Mullens, she was the daughter of the late Fount and Lucy Epperson Hale. She graduated from Mullens High School, was a member of the Mullens Wesleyan Church and also attended the New Hope Baptist Church of Mullens. Debbie was a devoted wife to her husband, Nelson Lane, and a loving mother to her children, Brad and Misty Lane. She was a homemaker. She had worked at Roma's Italian Restaurant and Wyoming County Sheriff's office as a 911 operator. Debbie had a strong faith and compassion for others, worked diligently for causes and events in her community and was extremely generous with her love and kindness. Debbie touched many lives during her short time on this earth. Her generosity, her family pride, and the devotion to her beliefs are well known. She was preceded in death by her father, Fount W. Hale, and her mother, Lucy Mae Epperson Hale; and a brother, Robert Leslie. Those left to cherish her memory are a husband of 37 years, Nelson Avery Lane of the home; a son, Bradley Mart Lane of Princeton, WV; a daughter, Misty Dawn Lane of Fayetteville, WV; in-laws, Mart and Laura Lane of Bud Mountain; a sister-in-law, Rachel Lane of Bud, WV; seven sisters, Carol McKinney of Statesville, NC, Sylvia Sizemore and her husband Calvin of White Oak, WV, Anna Reeves of Gastonia, NC, Diana Stevenson and her husband James of Boonville, NC, Rita Hale of Mullens, WV, Lucy Ashley and husband Charles of Mullens, Kathy Day and husband Luther of Mullens, WV; two brothers, Peyton Hale of Pineville, WV and Michael Hale and wife Debbie of Beckley, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. Larry England and Rev. Dalley Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Moran Cemetery, Bud Mountain. Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
