Sadly, God claimed another one of His Angels. Connie Foster Goode Chenoweth lost her courageous fight against Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018. She will be forever remembered as a devoted and loving mother, wife, Nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and for her vibrant spirit and compassionate heart. Her parents, Harry and Helen Foster, her brother, J.W. "Tubby" Foster, and her sister, Betty Foster Hylton, precede her in death. Survivors include her son, Paul "Robbie" Goode, daughter, Paula Goode Fannin, grandchildren, Josh, Tyler, and Reilly Fannin, and husband Gene.She was born Constance Brabbin Foster on July 21,1938, in Mullens, WV. Connie was a registered nurse and caregiver for over 55-years. Long into her career, while working full time and raising a family, she went back to school at night and on weekends to obtain her Master's Degree in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner's Degree from West Virginia University (WVU). She inspired many and was highly respected for her tenacious determination to be the best she could be. Connie worked as a nurse in Richmond, VA., Charleston, WV., Wyoming General Hospital in Mullens, WV and Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Connie also taught nursing at the Wyoming County Vocational Center in Pineville, WV. Additionally, she worked with hospice care patients in Beckley, WV. Connie moved to middle Tennessee to be near her children and married Gene in 1999. She continued to pursue her lifelong passion as a caregiver and nurse, forming Foster LLC and working at Madison Healthcare and Tennessee Christian Hospital in Nashville. Beyond her family, friends, and work, Connie gave of herself to so many. Her life's commitment to the Lord as His servant guided her path as stated in 1Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in it various forms." Connie had a strong love and commitment to the Mullens Presbyterian Church and Choir, as well as, the Hermitage United Methodist Church in Hermitage, Tennessee.The family invites you to Connie's visitation on Saturday, March 24th, 2018, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Mullens directly after the visitation. The Reverend John J. Rinehart will officiate. Immediately following the service, Connie will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1917 W. Main St. Princeton, WV. Pallbearers are Josh Fannin, Tyler Fannin, Greg Foster, Mark D'Antoni, John Mardigian and Mac Hylton.The family wishes to express their heartfelt love, appreciation, and gratitude for the countless thoughts, prayers, visits, cards, and calls over the past several years. Special thanks, appreciation and love is also extended to the dedicated and loyal staff at NHC North Sumner in Gallatin, Tennessee who offered extraordinary kindness, compassion and family-like care to Connie.Few loved Mullens WV and the Mullens First Presbyterian Church more than Connie.
