Beulah Ethel Mckinney Blanchard, 81, of Soak Creek, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020. Born October 13, 1938, at Basin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Rosa Mckinney. She was a long time resident of Amigo, homemaker, devoted wife of 51 years, loving mother and precious grandmother, who was happiest while spending time with her family and always cherished and looked forward to visits from her grandchildren. She collected deer and butterflies, and loved dogs, working puzzles, watching horror films, and going to flea markets and yard sales.She was proceeded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Blanchard, a daughter, Marla Wilson, a granddaughter, Christina Blanchard, a grandson, Danny Smith. Brothers Ted Mckinney, Carl Lee Mckinney, Bobby Mckinney, Hollie Mckinney, Jay Mckinney and sister Dora Mckinney.Survivors include sons Gene Blanchard and wife Betty of Jon Ben, Kenneth Blanchard at home, and David Blanchard and girlfriend Meredith Carr of Beckley; Daughters Rosie Blanchard at home, Susie Blanchard and Linda Smith of Beckley; Brothers Ricky Mckinney and Stanley Mckinney, sisters Myrtle Clay and JoAnne Howerton. 27 grandchildren, 29 great -grandchildren and 7 great-great children, and her two special dogs, Bandit and Peanut.She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. If roses grow in Heaven,Lord please pick a bunch for me.Place them in my mother's arms and tell her they are from me.Tell her I love her and miss her,and when she turns to smile,place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.Because remembering her is easy,I do it everyday,but there is an ache within my heartthat will never go away. -AnonymousServices will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Joe Rozell officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Cemetery on the John Bolen Road at Odd. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Christopher Lester, Jackie Blanchard, Brian Cole, Scotty Smith, Kevin Smith, and Shorty Evans.
