Betty Ann Blankenship

December 11, 1938 - September 27, 2020

Betty Ann Blankenship, 81, of Lester, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her residence. Born December 11, 1938 at Bud-Alpoca, WV, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Gracie Mae (Cromer) McKinney. Betty was a former housekeeper and CNA in Massachusetts for the Jewish community and was a member of the Old Grove Chapel in Crab Orchard. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Adkins; one son, Steve Adkins; three sisters, Maxine Cooper, Geraldine Dickens, and Jacqueline Maynard; and one brother, Jay McKinney. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, William H. Blankenship of Lester; two daughters, Melissa Burd and her husband, Chad of Idaho and Pamela Adkins of Pax; five sons, Rick Adkins and his wife, Linda of Bluefield, WV, Wendell Adkins and his wife, Carol of Oak Hill, Jeffrey Adkins and his wife, Tracy of WV, Butch Blankenship and his wife, Cheryl of MacArthur and Gary Blankenship and his wife, Emily of Lexington, NC; 14 grandchildren; 30 Great grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Dominick; and one brother, Ronnie McKinney and his wife, Helen. Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Old Grove Chapel, Crab Orchard with her son, Rev. Jeff Adkins, Pastor Ron Miller, and Brother Doug Thorn officiating.
